The End

In the installation The End, I use the triptych format to explore the melancholy of landscape and the aesthetics of transience. Three large-scale textile panels capture a sunset gradient, fixing the ephemeral moment of dusk into a static object of contemplation. However, I abruptly disrupt this lyrical vista with aluminium railings positioned directly in front of the viewer.
These industrial elements function as suspensions and barriers, transforming the spectator into a passive witness physically separated from the horizon. For me, the railings serve not merely as an architectural frame, but as conceptual cuts that emphasize the surreal nature of dusk; they suggest that every end—whether personal or collective—is always observed from a distance, behind an impassable obstacle.
My practice frequently engages with spaces of memory and nostalgia. Here, the inscription "The End" fades into the colors of the sky, turning a cinematic cliché into a quiet echo within the space. By juxtaposing soft textile with cold metal, I confront the viewer with the tension between our desire for permanence and the unrelenting architecture of reality that defines our boundaries.
